This New Year Day’s White Rock event is a tradition taking place by the famous huge white rock located on the seaside and beach between rail road track and the water’s edge on the Marine Drive and promenade…just east of the White Rock pier.

A good guess really is that the number of participants this January 1st 2012 at noon time was larger than 2011.. This time the weather this blustery bright overcast midday with challenging temperatures, wind-chill factor and the icy cold easterly wind sweeping in on the Semiahmoo Bay and the public and swimmers became uncomfortable for some.

I knew INSTANTLY that one day I had to have one of these cars. I have now enjoyed mine since 2005 and she is way more fun than I ever would have expected.

The car is a Factory Five Racing MkII Roadster and was hand-built in Calgary, Alberta throughout 2004 and delivered to my driveway January 2005. The car is powered with a 302 crate engine from Western Motorsports in Calgary, Alberta.

I based the *look* of the Cobra replicar on Allen English’s car in Portland, Oregon. That car was unfortunately wrecked in a crash in the summer of in 2008. Not too worry, he’s okay and now driving a beautiful blue CAV GT40 (aka Ford GT 40 replica).

This video was captured by my son Justin as we cruised around South Surrey and White Rock, BC Canada. It was produced for me as a gift by a good friend Phil Watkins.

If you’re a fan of Shelby, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Lotus, or anyone of dozens of amazing cars, but find them a little out of reach financially, consider building a replica and joining the fastest growing kit car and replica site on the Internet.

White Rock BC, Saturday 12 June 2010. Father’s Day is this weekend. The lovely musicians came and entered Sugar & Spice Cafe to have a bite to eat, or was it coffee, to prepare themselves for the concert or performance they would be participating in later in the day.

An event to be held in the White Rock Community Centre, at the White Rock Miramar Plaza. I got the idea of asking Tracy Lott and Celia Collin what they had in their cases they each carried. Tha answer was simply…violin…a fiddle.

What transpired from then on after I had asked them if they would play for the White Rock Reporter, you can view, see and hear, on this uncut Candid Video taken at the occasion…White Rock is truly rocking and this time ‘a classic; was nicely performed.

This is just one event available for tourists visiting the area of the district of White Rock. An attraction like whale watching for tourists and the local residents is fantastic and exciting for everyone.

Molly’s Point is conveniently located of 13th Ave. The stairs leading down and across the ravine is safe but cannot be negotiated without effort by anyone. One need to be fit and it is not recommended to do the excursion alone should an accident take place. Caution is recommended but by all means do not this scare you away. The natural scenery advancing toward the Molly’s Point on the Semiahmoo Bay shore next to the BNSF railroad track is stunning and beautifully untouched.

The animals I had set out to watch did not show off their majestic and huge bodies but only let go by letting off some steam; blowing air and creating the familiar sound from the exhaust through the air valve.

You need patience while watching this video. That’s part of the scenery and the natural experience. No rush and no stress..relax and sit back and watch the surface of the water,,the Pacific Ocean uniquely quiet and calm and yes…perfect for a peek at what these humpbacks do. The couple is not lost but most likely feeding themselves to be able to negotiate the onward journey ahead…to new stomping and breeding grounds.

If you have any similar experiences by photos or video write to info@whiterockreporter.com and let;s share the information.
