Travel Lovers Unite: Get Away To White Rock

White Rock has fair share of travel agencies, and they stay quite busy throughout the year. From family vacations to holiday trips to just “getting away”, our travel agencies know how to help you get where you want to be. Sometimes it amazes me that a small town such as White Rock has so many travel agencies in it. But when you consider that a lot of our residents are either retired or love to travel for business and pleasure, it’s easy to see why.

Throughout our years in White Rock, we’ve used several of the different travel agencies here, such as Marlin Travel, White Rock Travel, and Travel Masters. Each time, we’ve booked trips to different parts of the world – Spain, Japan, and the Bahamas to name a few. We loved every trip we took and by planning them through a travel agent, it was so much easier to get good deals as well as get the exact trip that we wanted. One time, we took a trip we planned ourselves and it was horrible. The hotel was bad, the flights were filled with tons of layovers, and it just wrecked the trip. We vowed never again to plan one on our own.

One of the things that I love about the different travel agencies here in White Rock is that each one of them offers wonderfully warm customer service. The last trip that we planned, we used Marlin Travel and booked a trip to Daytona Beach for the NASCAR races there. While my wife has been to Daytona before, I hadn’t, so I was excited to go. They were able to find us a great deal on flights and hotels for a week long stay. Even though we had fun in Daytona, I have to admit that I missed our beaches back in White Rock.

In fact, through most of our vacations and travels, I find myself missing White Rock. It’s not just being homesick, I truly love to travel. What I miss is that it’s quiet here, the beaches are wonderful, the scenery around the area in wonderful, and the people are always friendly and warm. I end up telling more people around the world about White Rock simply because of the “get away” feel that it has to it.

Traveling To White Rock

I do run into people on the beach or on the trails sometimes that are from other parts of the world and are in visiting. They rave about how nice and quiet it is here, how they truly feel relaxed here and how they are always glad that they came. We may not have huge rows of casinos, monstrous amusement parks, or waterways running through town, but we have so much more to offer.

I also love that there are a lot of retirees here that came to visit once or twice and loved it enough to retire here. It says a great deal about the community and the people here that tons of retired people from all over come to live here. I enjoy talking with the ones I know about what made them decide on White Rock instead of some larger city or other area of the world. They all love the town, they love the people here. They also love that it’s a bit of a tourist town without seeming too over the top like other areas are.

Traveling From White Rock

I’ve already told you that we travel a lot and try to visit different parts of the world when we do. One of our goals is to see at least one place on every continent before we die, and it’s fun to work toward! We have also talked to lots of people around White Rock that love to travel as well and love the different travel agencies here too.

They all have their favorites, and their favorite places that they visit. So we always ask why certain areas of the world are their favorites, where they would recommend that we go there, and which travel agency they used for their last trip there. The more we learn about different areas of the world, the more we form our next vacation. We’re thinking Thailand next year, and have even found plenty of great Thailand travel guide books as well as sites online.

If you are considering booking a trip, I suggest that you check out one of the travel agencies here in White Rock before you start searching online. They can easily find you great package deals that you won’t find online and you will know ahead of time how the hotels are going to be. Trust me, you don’t want to find out when you get there that the hotel is terrible.
