In honour of the gift and donors of the donation we show the White Rock Pier and its new environment, not bad at all, as a matter of fact it is a decorative statement. And well, should you be or get lost and not remember where you are, then the arch tells it all, eh?
The many decorative pieces you can find along the seaside of White Rock; the Marine Drive Promenade and art work in shape of sculptures and totem poles professionally carved by those who know…the Semiahmoo Nation elders and young carry traditions far and beyond what we recognize as ‘common borders of perception and understanding’.
Families, children and thousand of visitors are taking the short ride from Vanocuver to White Rock to ‘feel the tide’ and ‘sense the atmosphere’ of the wild and pristine super natural ocean side habitats and natural surroundings for animals…the birds like bald eagles and sandpipers and many others species. Racoones and opossums and ..well too many to list in this short description..but still this is a gifted and generously lotted part of our Province of British Columbia. The tourists paradise and offering the travelers a most comprehensive assortment and alternatives for bed and breakfasts, restaurants and what I like to call ‘simple folks eateries’ and thsoe being affordable for whole families wishing to enjoy their feast for the weekends….
The most rational way to indulge in the information about what White Rock can offer as a destination can be found on the City of White Rock’s website for tourism. Go to and tell the world while you are at it..http://www.tourismwhiterock.com
This little video uncut and ad hoc is merely a contribution to make it possible for the audience to digest and interpret a most spoken of ….the White Rock Pier and its Rotary Clock……alway punctual and displaying the correct time so you know when to leave for home.
The new arch and constructions is donated by the Butler family of White Rock as a token of apprecaition to the City and in memoriam of a young son of the family ..a boy who loved to play by and on the pier but no longer with us, as I have been told.
The background music is played by a free soul on the White Rock Reporter.com
Since this is the year of the Winter Olympics held in Whistler, Vancouver and Richmond today under-way I declare this video ot be in honour of all who could not particpate in the sports for any reasons and to all of you in the audience taking your time to be present at one or more Olympic events.
