Tops in White Rock, British Columbia on the Canadian Riviera..the Semiahmoo Peninsula..my notes below.;
What's yours. What rates highest in your estimation of what's nice to see and experience in White Rock. ?
1. White Rock seaside and uptown year 'round resort and community as such and entity and its citizens...polite and living right on the Peninsula and on the true Canadian Riviera [which I coined as a phrase in my welcoming message on my answering machine anno 1988 ; coming from the beautiful homeland Sweden I was and I still am mesmerized by the fresh air, the winds and the kind weather characters we are blessed with in White Rock and vicinity; our pristine ambiance and atmosphere envied by many who cannot afford to live here or cannot find a place.
2 Specifics....the Pier and the 'real' rock which is actually lying beside the painted one and I call this smaller one the 'gratitude rock'...never bothered by graffiti 'artists'. You've got it...i.e. any small little rock next to the 'biggie one'.
3. The White Rock Yacht Club's International Regatta [with the new course enabling more people to enjoy the sight of the vessels plying the waters] is for sure an event to rank among the highest for both locals and visitors.
4. The totem poles and the RCMP monumentally expressed appreciation for the many....deserving....but I wish the maple leaves were polished and maintained in better condition...plaques of remembrance and respect...need attention.
5. The station house, which I saw the very first time as a very young man and visitor 1957, but it had a different stain on the exterior then..
